Gold Rush

I’m tired from a busy week of blogging for Vegan MoFo. And eating a lot of food. And blogging. And eating. So my hubby Keith is stepping in to guest blog. Enjoy.

Hey folks, Keith here. It’s Friday. Congratulations on making it through the week. And for all your hard work, you deserve to treat yourself. And I know the best way how.

Gold Rush
Now Stacy runs this blog, because, you know, when it comes to food, she’s knows best. But when it comes to bourbon, or… who are we kidding, ALCOHOL, it’s time for me to step in. And on a Friday night, you need a drink. So might I suggest: THE GOLD RUSH.

The Gold Rush has easily been my favorite drink for a few years now. It’s super simple, but don’t let that fool you. Taking a sip of a properly poured Gold Rush is like getting a shot of Novocaine, except substitute Novocaine with smooth jazz and smiles. It goes down easy and leaves you feeling all warm and cuddly. In fact, it’s so good, most of my friends hear me talking about the Gold Rush more than they see me drink the Gold Rush. I just can’t shut up about it. It’s that good.

I’m sorry, you want me to stop stammering and get to the recipe? Most certainly. Here it is folks, my favorite drink. Bourbon, Honey and Lemon. Honey? How’s that vegan you say? Bee Free Honee. That’s how.

Bee Free Honee
Gold Rush
Bee Free Honee is made from apples and tastes just like honey except with the slight hint of, you guessed it, apples. Which puts a wonderful twist on the classic Gold Rush. And for those who want to stick to tradition, you can always substitute the honey for agave. Either way, this drink will quickly become a staple in your go-to cocktail list.

So without further adieu, sit back, turn down the lights, and try to ignore the pit bull with a sweet tooth for bourbon.

Butters REALLY does have a weird thing with Bourbon
