Whew! What a whirlwind holiday season. We took off for a while and spent some time in my home state of Florida, but now we’re back, and I’m back to updating the ol’ bloggy blog.
Did you have lots of fun holiday parties this year? One of my favorites this year was a vegan holiday party in Brooklyn, hosted by my pal Natalie of The Veganette. Natalie was recently featured in Chickpea Magazine and my friends are totes vegan celebrities.
Anyway, it was so fun to have so much vegan baking going on in one place! Here are some fun shots from the party.
We started out the night with some delicious soy nog– just nog, rum, cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg.
There was a whole messload of chickpea patties with gravy (recipe from the Veganomicon cookbook).
Caramelized brussels sprouts, Natalie’s famous mac and cheese, and cranberry muffins.
Kale salad, sauteed kale (kale is a thing now, hmmmm?), and vegan swedish meatballs.
The cooks in the kitchen! Please note my Christmas spirit.
And now, onto dessert…. this was the gingerbread cooking station. Some pretty, some not so pretty, but all delicious.
This was Natalie’s unbelievable vegan chocolate yule log. Girl has got patience. Oh! And marzipan mushrooms!!
All in all, a fantastic holiday party, and a wonderful year. I hope that your 2013 is filled with peace, happiness, and compassion.
